Women Of The NHS -Documentation
Women of the NHS series explore the diverse narratives within healthcare. I engaged with female NHS workers across various sectors and locations, conducting interviews and created a podcast series alongside visual artworks. This collaborative process, explores the complex interplay between gender, knowledge, experience, and power in our contemporary society, using the NHS as a mirror to reflect wider social issues.

I initiated and led Women of the NHS, engaging female healthcare workers across a range of sectors and locations. Through interviews, I developed a podcast series alongside a body of visual artworks. The project explored intersections of gender, labour, knowledge and power within the NHS as a microcosm of wider social structures.
Participants responded to an open call, and I was careful to create a process that felt ethical and non-exploitative. I prioritised building trust, ensuring contributors felt safe sharing their image and voice. Informed in part by Nell Dunn’s Talking to Women, the project centred dialogue and shared authorship. Participants were involved in shaping how their narratives were represented, ensuring their stories were communicated not only through my perspective but in collaboration with them. This methodology continues to underpin my practice.
