So proud to have been selected for the Royal Birmingham Society Of Artists Exhibition. I had such a wonderful evening at the private view yesterday and loved being surrounded by so many fabulous portraits and talented artists. My work really shined and felt complete thanks to Fine Art Printing and Framing - Norfolk.

My painting Focus on women so we can give them some confidence, which was created in Egg Tempera on Board, was selected and is a portrait of Doctor Lucrèce. Created as part of my Women of the NHS series. The project brings together painting, recorded interviews, and a podcast to explore the diverse experiences of women working across the NHS, using their voices to reflect wider social narratives. Through my conversations with Lucrèce, a junior doctor with a background in hairdressing, I became interested in her ambition to specialise in dermatology and her commitment to supporting women, particularly women of colour who experienced hair and scalp conditions. Her perspective speaks to the intersections of care, identity, and confidence, which I aim to hold within the painting process, allowing her voice and experience to shape both the image and its making.
