MA Summer Show Planning
This page demonstrates my planning for the MA summer show. As a group, we had just moved to Wilson Road. Suddenly we had a lot more space, and the result was that almost everyone on the course suddenly went huge with their paintings and scaled up.
Moving to this studio space, then allowed me to experiment with painting directly onto the wall. I also experimented and explored how I could hang my works. I looked at creating a scatter hang, and including lot's of different works. However, this looked messy and to full and I felt that the work didn't have space to breath. Since moving to egg tempera I have struggled to work out how to successfully and cohesively hang the work.
I particularly enjoy the freedom with painting directly onto the wall and then conversation this creates with the egg tempera.
These photos, represent how I explored if I could create a book like object to hang my works. I connected these watercolour works with a door hinge. I did this because I was thinking about the archive and ideas surrounding accessing the archive. I wanted these objects to be reflective of a book, or the feeling of rummaging though the archives in the feminist Library.
